We are very proud to announce the first game beyond Magic: the Gathering that will be supported on TCG Home: Disney Lorcana. The “new kid on the block” in the TCG scene turned out to be the ideal candidate for us to expand our portfolio of games into. Let’s get into some of the reasons why!
Data, Data, Data
One of the biggest challenges of adding additional TCGs to our platform is finding sources for our database that are comprehensive, up to date and reliable. Luckily, with Lorcana being a very fresh game with a comparatively small number of different available cards, finding a complete database was significantly easier than for other games. Once we realized how quickly we could get our own database up to speed for Lorcana, we immediately knew that this game could be supported far sooner than any other.
When Will It Be Available?
We don’t have a final release date for Disney Lorcana on TCG Home yet but we’re optimistic that we could be live by the time the next set comes out. With Rise of the Floodborn scheduled for release on December 17th, that means we hope to support the game on our Beta within a matter of weeks. Currently we hope for an early November launch for Lorcana on TCG Home. Of course we will let you all know as soon as we have finalised a date for when you can start adding Lorcana cards to your collection!
More Games Are Coming
Do not despair, Pokémon fans! More games are still very much on our radar. Lorcana may have been quick to add because of the small card pool but that doesn’t mean we’ll abandon larger games. Quite the opposite as we’re both expanding our capacities for database maintenance to ensure better coverage for all our games as well as actively looking into onboarding for other games like Pokémon. We’re still committed to adding more and more games in the future.
