Deckbuilding lies at the heart of every trading card game and for many people, that’s the primary purpose of their collection. A number of platforms out there are focused only on deckbuilding, which means that many TCG enthusiasts already have their decks in a digital form somewhere. That’s why we made sure that getting these decks into your TCG Home collection is comfortable and easy. In this step-by-step guide we’ll show you how to do it.
Advice from a Champion
As some of you may know, a few of the most active users on our Discord server act as Community Champions: They help other members of our community out with questions or issues, share their experience with the platform and make sure our staff members don’t miss important feedback during fast-paced online communication. Recently our Community Champion Sir Bartacus shared some advice and best practices about his experience adding preconstructed decks to the collection on TCG Home. So this article features some of his advice in highlighted boxes like the one below:
Step 1: Getting Ready
Before you can start getting those cards into your collection, you will want to make sure you have everything you need. Go to the “Card Tags” section of TCG Home and make sure you have all the tags you want to apply to cards in that deck. At least one tag with the name of the deck is helpful so you can filter for the deck later on.
You also want to make sure you have the deck list ready. For preconstructed decks, you can find the deck lists online on many different platforms. Copy your deck list from your favorite platform so you have it ready to import.

Step 2: Import the Deck List
When you go to the “Add Cards” section of TCG Home, choose “Import a deck list” and paste your decklist in the next window. If your deck list format is correct and includes the set code and collector number for each card, the importer will automatically add the correct version of each of those cards.
You can also use the “Assign card set & language” button to ensure each card gets added in the correct language and get selected from the correct set in case the set code is missing for a card in your list.
Once you click “Start import” it should only take a few seconds to match your deck list with our database.
Step 3: Check Your Results
After the cards are matched, you get an overview of all cards that will be imported. If any cards from your list fail to match, you can export a file of these failed cards in the top right corner of this screen. If this happens, you can report them in the feedback section of our Discord server and we will take a look at those cards in our database.
Also in the top right corner, you can click the “Card settings” button to assign tags and/or a condition to all cards from your deck list. Use this to apply the deck name tag from step 1.
Below that, you can find an overview of all cards that matched from your list. You can double check if each one has the right version and make adjustments via the “Actions” menu on the right end of the table.
That’s it!
Just click the import button and all the cards will be added to your collection. And with these 3 simple steps—getting tags and decklist ready, copying and importing the list, and finally checking your results—you’ve not only added a full deck to your TCG Home collection, you’re also set up to make the most of our collection management features in the future.
