The seamless integration of Cardmarket is coming to TCG Home. If you’ve been following along on our journey, you’ve seen us talk about this for quite some time and now we’re ready to share the first details on where we stand and what to expect from this new feature.
The State of Development
Just a few days ago, the Cardmarket Integration has moved beyond Alpha Testing. It is currently being tested by a group of Volunteer Beta Testers before it will go live for everyone on the Beta. At the time we’re posting this article, we’re still looking for additional Volunteer Testers for this feature. If you want to join, head over to our Discord server and give yourself the Volunteer Tester role to find all the information you need.
In its current state, our Cardmarket integration allows you to connect your Cardmarket account to TCG Home, list cards for sale on Cardmarket directly from your TCG Home Collection as well as review and update your Cardmarket orders on TCG Home. Both our current limited Beta Test and the previous phase of Alpha Testing have been live tests through which users have listed, sold and shipped cards successfully.
First Results of Testing
Of course after completing our first few rounds of testing, we don’t want to keep our results from you. The most important news is that we didn’t have any reports of critical malfunctions. And while this may seem obvious at first, it is important to note that even in early Alpha Testing, the reported results showed the base functionality working as intended. This is one of the reasons why we could expand our testing so quickly beyond the Alpha phase. Without this result, we had gone back to the drawing board!
However, there is still a lot of testing to do! We are confident that we’ll be able to deliver an experience that many users of TCG Home are looking for but we still want to make sure we gather all the info we can in order to get that experience just right for you. The sooner we get those additional testing results, the sooner we will be able to release this feature publicly on the Beta.
More Improvements
Right now, we’re still focused on optimizing the process for listing cards on Cardmarket from your collection and for syncing your Cardmarket orders on TCG Home. Once all of this is ready, we can move on to the next set of improvements for our platform.
One of the most-requested improvements has been support for card prices from regions where Cardmarket doesn’t reflect the local value of cards. To that end, we’re planning to incorporate prices from TCG Player as our first additional price source. We believe that with this addition we can serve a significant portion of our community with card prices that accurately reflect the secondary market in their region.
As always, we’re going to keep you updated on all these developments with the newsletter for our registered users as well as on our Discord server and right here on our blog.
